The Barn Party for Prevention was held on October 14, 2022, at Utah State Fair Park. The event raises funds for Prevent Child Abuse Utah’s prevention programs. Dominion Energy was the presenting sponsor for this year’s event.
Games & Fun!
The Barn Party was filled with activities, games, and dancing with Karissa Jardine as the caller. There were prevention stations throughout the venue, where our team members showcased each of our unique programs. Carnival games included spin the wheel, duck pluck, and psychic readings. Mystery bags made a return with prizes that included 4-pack Utah Jazz tickets, botanical LEGO sets, Gabb Wireless Phones, AirPod Pros, and a gorgeous diamond necklace worth $1500. Our door prize was a fantastic Lifetime Grill. Dominion Energy, J. Brooks Jewelers, Blankets by Brian, and Malouf Companies sponsored all of our games and prizes. The event also boasted an impressive array of silent auction items donated by various local businesses. Items like tickets to Lagoon’s Frightmares, Deer Valley, and Color Me Mine, along with Hug-Hes Cafe gift cards, David Habben Art, and Blankets by Brian were popular with attendees.
Live Auction
Before the live auction and program, guests were served a delicious dinner from Magleby’s. Food included BBQ brisket, chicken, coleslaw, and Au gratin potatoes, followed by apple tart and chocolate cake for dessert. At the end of the night, the live auction with Auctioneer, Robert Olsen offered some fantastic items including a Traeger grill, a suite for 10 guests for the Utah Jazz, a week’s vacation in St George, Panama, or Antigua, and guest segments on Good Things Utah, Utah’s #1-morning show.
