Here at Prevent Child Abuse Utah we believe that holding more meetings for educators will bring a more effective approach to new curricula.

We’re kidding!!!

We know how hard the teachers we collaborate with are working with their already full lesson plans. A great perk of our Child Abuse Prevention presentation is that our trained Education Team teaches the curriculum in each individual classroom. That’s right! We handle everything from scheduling to teaching, to answering the students’ questions and making reports when necessary. This allows the teachers and administrators to be present and attentive while the curriculum is being taught.

Prevent Child Abuse Utah wants educators to feel supported when implementing child abuse prevention into their classroom. Even after our curriculum is being taught, we believe an ongoing conversation is important for students to be able to come forward and report when they need help. A great way to foster a safe space in the classroom is to have a poster hanging in a clear spot where students can remember that Trusted Adults can be found at home as well as at school. Download the poster to hang in your classroom, office, or hallway!

While we teach 4th-12th graders to Recognize, Resist, and Report child abuse, with the younger students we like to use more child-friendly language that they can understand more clearly. We do this by learning a song that teaches them to “Listen to Your Uh-Oh Feeling, Say No, and Go Tell”. This easy-to-remember jingle is a great way to implement the language of our curriculum into the younger classrooms. Download the Safety Rules graphic for younger students.

Implementing Prevent Child Abuse Utah’s Child Abuse Prevention curriculum is as easy as sending an email to Emily Sparks at esparks@pcautah.org. From there, we can schedule and get our curriculum into your school this school year! Child Abuse & Human Trafficking Prevention is not just about fulfilling a requirement—it’s about making a meaningful difference in the lives of Utah’s students. Your dedication to this cause can help build a future where every child is safe, supported, and empowered to reach their full potential!

Thank you for your commitment to creating safer schools and brighter futures. Together, we can make a lasting impact on the lives of Utah children!
